Commercial projects across Melbourne
Shops, service stations, schools, community buildings and offices, photographed before and after. For tickets, insurance and after hours work, see the commercial services page.

What the photographs do not show
Every job below was painted around somebody's trading hours. The bottle shop ceiling in Ballarat went up overnight between close and open. The office building in Footscray was reached from a boom lift while the building kept working underneath. The school colonnade in Essendon was done section by section around the timetable.
None of that happens without the paperwork behind it: twenty million dollars of public liability, current work permit and safety cards, and licences for scissor lift and boom lift. The full set of conditions, and what we take on in warehouses, factories and workshops, is on the commercial services page.
Roadside & retail
Franchise sites where the colour is the brand. Sharp cut-in lines around the signage, clean two-tone panels, finished to the standard a national name expects. Shop interiors as well, worked around trading so the doors open on time.
Guzman Y Gomez, Sunbury
A new build in Sunbury painted inside and out. Parts of the exterior are metal, so those took a metal system rather than the render coating used elsewhere. Shown as the street frontage, the canopy, the drive-through lane and the corner.

7-Eleven service station, Sunbury
A new service centre in Sunbury, painted inside and out. As on the neighbouring site, the metal sections of the exterior took a metal system of their own. Shown as the forecourt canopy, the building front and the corner.

Woolworths bottle shop in Ballarat, open ceiling in black
The trading floor of a bottle shop in Ballarat, where the ceiling is left open and the structure, ducting, cable trays and pipework are all on show. Sprayed out in black so the services drop away and the lit shelving and signage carry the room. Stock, shelving and every bottle on display were wrapped in plastic and taped off before any spray went up. Worked overnight with a small crew, start to finish in a single night, and the shop traded as normal the next morning.

Community buildings
Buildings that stay open to the public while the work is on. Painted in stages around visitor access, with entrances and walkways kept usable.
Heritage community centre in Caulfield, full exterior repaint
A rendered heritage community centre in Caulfield repainted right around, from the street frontage to the side and rear elevations. The old render had cracked and blistered in patches, so those were cut out, filled and made good before any colour went on. Finished in a soft pale grey, and the client asked for the window frames to change colour with it. The walls run high, so the top sections were done from a boom lift and the rest off ladders.

Community centre decking in Point Cook, ramps and stairs
Timber decking right around a community building in Point Cook: the entry ramp, the access ramp, the open terrace, the walkway along the black facade and the external stairs. The old red coating had worn back to bare timber along the traffic lines. All of it was machine sanded back, then recoated in a warm ivory, with tactile indicators and stair nosings left clean and sharp.

Schools
Bright, hard-wearing finishes on school grounds, worked around term times and kept safe for students throughout.
School entrance colonnade in Essendon
New steel columns at a school entrance in Essendon, finished in a run of different colours at the client's request. Metal throughout, so it took a metal system from primer to topcoat. Shown before and after from two angles, with a detail of the canopy.

Office buildings
Occupied buildings that cannot stop trading while the outside is painted. Access is planned around the working day, and the high sections are reached from a lift rather than staged off the footpath.
Two storey office building in Footscray, full exterior repaint
The full outside of an office building in Footscray, painted for the owner directly. The walls run high, so the upper sections were reached from a boom lift. Shown as the street frontage, the curved wall, the entrance and the lift lobby glazing.
