A tired tile roof can age a whole house. We wash it back, prepare it properly and refinish it in a clean, even colour, with the eaves and fascias to match.
It starts with a clean surface
Paint only lasts on a roof that was prepared for it. Before any colour goes on, the tiles are cleaned back under high pressure, stripping years of moss, lichen and chalked-out surface so the new finish has something sound to hold to.
- High-pressure clean. Every tile washed back to a sound surface, moss and lichen removed.
- Checked over. Ridge lines and tiles looked over before anything is painted.
- Eaves and fascias to match. The trim is finished in the same colour, so the roof reads as one.
- Tidied down each day. The site is left clean, the same way we work inside a home.

A roof does not take wall paint
Roofs get their own coating system, not the paint that goes on your lounge room wall. A roof lives under full sun, rain and frost, it moves with the heat, and moss grows back on it. The coating has to be built for that, so we use a dedicated roof product rather than stretching an interior brand across everything.
- One coat of primer. Straight onto the cleaned tiles, so the topcoats have something to bind to.
- Two topcoats over it. Three coats in total, not two, because the first one disappears into a porous old tile.
- Sprayed, not rolled. A sprayer reaches the profile and the overlaps of a tile evenly. A roller skips over them and leaves thin edges that fail first.
What we look at before quoting a roof
Three things, and we can only judge them properly on site. That is why the quote comes after we have been out, not over the phone.
- The size of the roof. The obvious one, and the easiest to work out.
- The condition it is in. This is the one that moves the number. Some roofs come up with a wash. Others are carrying years of moss and lichen and take far longer to get back to a surface worth painting.
- How many of us it takes. Bigger and steeper roofs need more hands to be done safely and finished in the same run, and that goes into the price.
The price we give you after that visit is the price. It does not move once the work starts.

Concrete takes a different approach to a wall. It has to be cleaned back until the surface is open enough to hold a coating, then finished with a paint built for a floor that carries a car.
